An architectural analysis of Copper House II by Studio Mumbai, focusing on how the house creates a dialogue between privacy, circulation, and its surrounding landscape.

 

The study maps the different spatial elements and transitions throughout the house, including entrances, courtyards, stairs, windows, covered thresholds, and gardens. Through annotated perspectives and axonometric drawings, I explored how these elements guide movement, frame views, control privacy, and create gradual transitions between the interior and exterior.

 

Particular attention was given to the use of wood, brick, natural stone, and filtered openings, and how these materials contribute to the character and atmosphere of the house. The analysis also examines how the architecture is embedded within the dense natural surroundings of Chondi, creating a sequence of open, sheltered, and private spaces.

 

The project combines spatial observation, architectural drawing, and visual analysis to understand how seemingly simple architectural interventions can shape the experience of a home.
